  • Saturdays (6.00am-9.00am and 5.00-8.00pm) 

This is a jobshare contracting position between 2 Equipments Assistants (EA).  EAs will work alternate weeks during the music school term (there will not be operations during term break).  There are generally around 44 weeks of operations in a year.


Remuneration is $20 per hour.  

As it is a contractor’s role, the EA is paid based on the number of hours worked as agreed i.e. EA is not paid when taking time off or when there are no operations.

Director, Encore! School of Music

The following section outlines the primary tasks for this position. The tasks may change depending on business needs and there may be additional tasks to ensure the smooth running of the business. 

Set up

  • Pick up music equipment from storage 

  • Transport music equipment to Amesbury School

  • Set up music equipment according to the plan provided

Pack down

  • Pack down music equipment after classes 

  • Ensure classrooms are left the way they were found

  • Transport music equipment back to storage

Lock up

  • Ensure all windows and doors are shut and locked

  • Set the alarm when leaving school premises

Broken Equipment

  • Inform admin team about any equipment that requires attention

  • Help with any straightforward repairs on equipment


  • Providing cover if the other EA is away

  • Ability to work in New Zealand – citizenship, residency or work visa.

Physically fit and able:

  • Able to transport and set up musical equipment for music school operations (includes digital pianos, which can be heavy but nothing too overly challenging!).

Driver’s license:

  • Has a driver’s license and good driving record.
